secutriy system 1999 jeep grand cherokee
I have a 1999 jeep grand Cherokee that needs a new engine. I found one but my question is about the security system that disables the vehicle from starting. The security system in the jeep I may buy for the parts only was tampered with by the owner. Will this affect the motor in any way if I use it to replace the motor in the jeep I own
If it was i wouldn't buy a engine with out hearing it run before and compression testing it.If you got the cash get a jasper rebuilt engine its not cheap but a step above oem to me.

the security system disables thru the ecu or ecm (computer) as long as youre not using the electrical componants shouldnt be an issue however as mentioned id get the guy to write you a
money back guarantee that its a good motor in perfect working order and get it notarized, if there not willing than its a gamble. better off getting a junk yard one at least they will give you another one if its bad
