Default Seat base mods ?

Has anyone ever taken a manual seat slider base from an xj and modified it to be lower and farther back. I'm tall and plan on doing that but wanted to hear what others have done.

not sure about lower but you can get, iirc, 1/4" steel by an 1" or 2" wide and make brackets to gain an extra 3" of leg room

Someone actually makes a kit. I read about it on a forum the other day. Wish I could remember where.

That said, everyone was busting that guy's chops for not making his own because it was so simple to do.

Ya I just bought an extra seat base and slide to experiment on. I need a couple inches of legroom. Since I'm waiting for parts for some other mods I figured I'd try it. I know there isn't much to them and I have everything in the shop I need to modify one. I took out the back seat (which no one could ever sit in anyway). Just didn't know if others had tried it. I actually did one on a Grand Cherokee for someone else once along time ago. Lower and farther back. Are the seat frames the same ?

That thread appears to be gone. It doesn't show up in a Google search at all. Somebody must have complained.

In any case, here's the kit:

Big Boy Seat Bracket

And here's what it looks like:

So you can spend $69 plus shipping to get them already fabbed up for you, or you can buy a strip of steel, cut it to size and drill four holes in each piece. Your choice, depending on your comfort level with power tools.

ETA: Hey! I found the thread. Not sure why it wasn't showing up in the searches. Weird.
