The other day I was hanging out with the guys in our local car club and a new guy came up to us to talk. He started asking questions about stuff we had all been talking about for years (I know, what nerve right?!) We quickly told him that "this has been covered before" and to hit the bricks!

Ok, I'm a new guy and maybe shouldn't stir the pot like this, but I'm not new to forums.... I'm just sick of reading posts that always have to start with apologies and proof that a search has been done prior to asking a question. If someone is asking for the best way to do a body lift on an XJ, by all means flame on! or if someone just simply asks: "what's the best lift?" he obviously doesn't have a soul and should be banned, but if its an honest question, can't we just help out and start a dialogue, isn't that what its all about? The search tool is invaluable, and should by all means always be pointed out if something has been covered and there's better information out there, but if we were all hanging in the garage over some beers, we would offer some advice as well and keep the conversation rolling, so shouldn't we do the same here? isn't that what this is all about... a community

Eventually everything will be covered and there will be no need for a forum, just a wiki with a search feature, but what fun is that?
