A sad day for a proud Cherokee owner
I sold my 2001 XJ today. It was my dream car, but as I will be commuting to college next year (70 miles) I needed something a little better on gas.
I loved my Jeep and will miss it!

+1 on getting a cheap DD
I got this from a friend for free to use as a Auto-X project car which now has been used as a DD, I've put about 500 into it as far as maintenance is concerned over the past 3 1/2 years it runs great and gets 32mpg

G'ah!
I commute around 500 miles per week. Jeep has gotten roughly the same mileage as most of the other cars I've owned.
Er... of course, most of the other cars I've owned were twenty-year-old V8s. But, er... yeah. My Neon wasn't much better, in all honesty.

Damn..... It sucks you sold it. Water under the bridge now though. Sorry dude. As for cheap, cant get much cheaper than sorta free. Picked up a '00 Nissan Sentra. Needed an $80 IAC valve, tires, and registration. All told, I have about $400 into a car that was given to me. The PO is a diesel mech and could not figure out an idle issue, got sent to Germany and gave me the car. About 37-40 on the hwy. Cheap little gas sippers are out there, you might have to do a little work to get it running, but they are out there.
