Rust spots :(
So after having my jeep for about a year now I see the old paint is just not that great and the gloss has started to peel off leaving me with some rust spots,I do plan to give it a new paint job later on,but mean while any tips or suggestions on how I can stop it or fix it myself ?

Boy...that second photo tells some stories...that is a massive amount of bondo there...is that on the roof as well? If so, I'm going to venture a guess and say that thing was rolled at some point in its life, and whoever "fixed" it did a phenomenally ****ty job trying to cover it up. I would look at dumping it and starting over, who knows what else was half assed on that thing....wish I had better news for ya, but that's my dual Lincolns

Depends on what your plans are. Basically the roof is shot. Can you work around that? You could cut it out, cage it, and do a soft top sorta deal!

Your best bet is probably to get it stripped down to bare metal and see what you have. I agree with others, looks like a bad repair job, but if it is only rusted through in the one spot and you can live with whatever dents are hiding under the bondo (you may be able to pound them out a bit with a body hammer from the inside but don't expect it to be perfect) it may not be that big of a deal (just a small patch and some rust inhibitor paint). If there is extensive rust damage (not just surface rust) you're probably looking at replacing the roof (or a cage, etc.) or start looking for a new Jeep.

If you remove your head liner you'll get a really good picture of what the damage is. If that hole has been in the rain you need to redo head liner anyway. If it was rolled there'll be extensive damage to the ribbing. If not and just a hole I'd fix it and lift it so no one ever sees the roof. As long as water hasn't been in the Jeep and rotted out the floors its worth it and you can just spay the roof quick for now.
