Im looking at a Cherokee for sale at the jersey shore and it's got some rust on the metal where the seat moves back and forth on and attaches to the floor. also alot of the floor trim has got surface rust on it. the lady said that was normal but I'm not so sure. it's a 2000 with 108,000 miles runs fine and all. I'm bringing my friend who works at a dodge dealer and owned a 96 xj along. Asking 4500. I also noticed the pw windows weren't working. you could control all of them but only thru the master switch on the drivers side door

From Jersey?

Yes, rust is normal. I'm in WI and my floors literally didn't exist. LITERALLY.

Some surface rust is normal on older vehicles. A little krylon goes a long way.

Clean the rust off first, otherwise it will continue to eat away.

Check out my build thread. Your truck can't be worse than mine was.

The power windows are a pretty common problem. You'll have to either replace the child safety window lock button, or bypass it (what I did). Very simple and only takes a few minutes. You can find a writeup on how to do it elsewhere in this forum. Good luck with the purchase.
