Running a CB Radio in the Jeep
i wanna run a cb in my jeep. im thinking of getting a uniden 520 cb. getting a PA speaker for it. and then running a metal antenna so it dont have to worry about breaking it on the trail.
is that all that i will need? the cb, pa speaker, and antenna? plus the antenna cord to run it to the rear?
and what are your thoughts on a firestick vs a whip?
thanks

102" SS whip>Firestick, or loaded (has/is a coil) antenna
With antenna's physical size (height) matters. If you don't mind drilling into your Jeep a ball mount would be the best option to mount a whip. If you are good with sheet metal (or know someone who is) make a backing plate for inside the quarter panel that way you get a better ground, and lessen the stress on the body, and mounting holes if you whack something. With using a big antenna it is best to also use a spring.
