Default Rough Ride Still..

So I'm not looking to get the ride quality of a Cadillac. I just want to make sure I'm getting the most out of my XJ.

I'm running 6.5'' RC coils with a 1.75'' spacer, and no coil isolators. I recently upgraded from RC white tube shocks that were put on in October, to Bilstein 5100s, I also have Serious long arms. I live in a city where potholes and bumps are all over. With the new shocks, it's still quite rough. My radio isn't seated properly and still goes off when I hit bad bumps.

Could running no coil isolators be that bad? Are RC coils not that good? Or does it take some time to break new shocks in? They just got put on last night.

Running no coil isolators doesn't help your cause, and yea the shocks are still pretty fresh still, but they won't change a whole lot. 6.5" coils already are going to be pretty stiff and how are your shackle angles?

I'd bet your issue is with your leaves and not the front at all.

Yeah.. I didn't have any when I did my lift, and one thing led to another and I just didn't run them. I figured having the spacer would be fine.. Think I should get some? I run a full 6.5 pack with leaf sliders. I'm thinking of going to a 3-4'' pack with relocators and adjustable shackles.

Ignore the bad paint job. They've been touched up.

I know having a full 6.5 pack doesn't help.. I'm looking into downsizing them and getting shackles/relocators.

Ive read some ride issues arent helped by running too much air pressure in your tires, tires are made to carry alot more weight then our jeeps weigh at the pressure listed on the tire. Havent tried it myself but you might look into it. Thats alot of lift for 33's.

It's worth a shot. They need to be rebalanced anyway, so. I ran them around 24 a few months ago, and it was OK, just a bit spongy. I think they're around 35 or so now.

I run my 33's at 28 psi FWIW. If your spacers are poly you don't NEED isolators and you probably won't tell that much of a difference...

I have no idea on what kind they are. Previous owner put them on to compensate for the weight of the bumper/winch. I'm leaning more towards the rear end causing the issue. Since I have a full 6.5 pack, that'd affect my overall ride quality, right? Not just the rear end kicking up when hitting bumps?

This is all I got lol:

So it's probably the leafs then? I'm looking at IronMan4x4 shackles and relocation kit with 3 to 4'' pack.

Just wanted to confirm that this will help my ride quality before I order the stuff later this week.

Both of these:

As long as your set up is at ~45* degrees and you have your bilsteins on you should be golden, with a good leaf pack too.

I think it'd a bastard pack. I mean it wasn't sagging or anything, if that's what you mean. Plus even if it isn't the best, it can hold me over until I get a nicer one.

How it sat before the lift.
