Default Rough Country or Rustys 3 inch lift?

I was wondering if anyone had any opinions on these two lifts. If i go with the Rough Country lift i will be getting the full leaf pack add on.

I have a 60/40 mixture of Rough Country and Rusty's lift componants in my Jeep. Both companys make an awesome XJ lift kit. Go with whatever one you get the best price on. PM GrimusXJ on the forum for a killer deal on a Rough Country lift kit.

IF you're talking about complete kits, I'd go RC simply for the fact that Rusty's trackbars and control arms suck doggy doo and have countless reports of (sometimes dramatic) failure.

I've had mine for 2 years now and love it. No sagging or problems what-so-ever. As you can see, I use mine!

RC made in china. Rustys made in US. I've run Rusty's w no issues. No worn out bushings. I have their steering conversion and track bar. You will not have a issue w it. I'm not a big fan of there steering. Not that it's bad. But there is better for the money. Serious steering for instance. If you go Rusty's. Talk to Zack. Rustys 3.5" lift will net you closer to 4". My 4.5" netted me 5.25 after settling.
I personally don't like the rusty shocks but that's just me. I would also suggest getting UCA. They don't come w kit. And do look into the serious steering. It's by far best money spent.

i have to agree with the track bars suckin, but the control arms are beef. the old arms with the tractor implament ends, with the huge splines were dog doo. i dont know if those are the ones you are referencing, but the newest arms use a WAY better quality flex joint than rc.

most of rustys failures dont happen anymore. they have corrected all those problems, or i seriously doubt they would still be in business.

also, i installed some rc LA's for a buddy on his zj a couple months ago. stuck my finger down in the arm before inserting the flex joint, only to find a HUGE seam in the tubing. no DOM i know of has a seam on the inside after it is drawn over a manderal. went to install the t-case skid, and it went half way into the t-case and was gouging it in the center(didnt even cover half the bottom of the t-case). comes with alot of grade 5 hardware.....i wouldnt buy rc. after seeing and installing a kit in person, i think they cheaped out in all the wrong places.

this is just MY opinion so dont shoot me for it.

rusty's springs are good - I would (and might) buy those - I've heard they're nice and flexy

I went Rusty's for the springs (3") but also have some RC stuff as well. It flexes pretty well and rides good too. I would opt for some better shocks though. The Rusty's shocks aren't bad, but there's certainly better out there.
