My XJ doesn't have a factory roof rack set up and I am looking into getting something installed. I'm only looking for something basic that will allow me to throw some skis and snowboards up there in the winter. So it looks like I would only need a typical rails and crossbar type kit. The problem is, I am having the hardest time finding what I am looking for considering I do not have an existing factory setup.

Can someone point me in the right direction please? If more info is needed, please let me know!

Look at car ID.

 

No don't go to car Id, it sounds like you need the Thule rack.

 

X2, I ran Thule racks for years on my VW's. Go to their website & get the model numbers you'll need for the gutter mounts & hit up some "Play It Again Sports" stores. You can usually get what you need cheap. May need to buy new locks though.
