Default roof/cargo rack recommendations

Looking for a decent quality rack for my 99 XJ 4-door that attaches to the drip/rain rails (as mine doesn't have the factory roof rack mount bars)

Experience with ones y'all have/had, etc.

Doesn't have to be cargo either. Even if it's just the pair of bars that you see like on work vans for ladders but would fit the width of our XJs without having to modify the mounts. I need to occasionally pick up items that just wont fit inside the jeep due to length.
Reasonably priced, as money for one is unfortunately an object at this time.

Thanks!

I have a Defender roof rack on mine, and it is OK.
I got it from a friend of mine, and the price was right for it, but I did have to buy the gutter mounts for it. And those suckers were pretty pricey I thought from Smitybuilt.
In the coming month I think I am gonna take it to some dudes fab shop close by in Hesperia to have them make it longer, and to weld in a floor too.

We have used for hauling camping stuff, Full size Jeep parts, and lot of construction materials for our home.
Can't tell you how useful that darn thing is. Once you have one up there it gets used (well at least I use the snot outta it).

i have a Warrior Products. gotta say, it's the best built rack that i've ever seen. nicest drip rail mounts in the industry. it can hold a shiat ton of weight. i've had well over 500lbs up there, (without swaybars!!)

Classic (older) round bar Yakima rack. They can be had free or cheap. Yakima still supports them. They're rock solid and hauled everything on top of my Cherokees that was to big to fit inside them.

yeah.... those look great... but remember.... cost is unfortunately an obstacle right now.... especially with the wife wanting to push to get a full size truck instead....gotta show her with least investment as possible that the XJ stays right where it is

@DustyWagoneer ... agreed... you'd think they made those drip rail mounts out of platinum or something the way they charge for them.
