Default ripping out the carpet

there is a leak in my front windshield somewhere that i still need to get fixed. but cuz of this the carpet on the driver side and passenger side is wet. i want to just rip the carpet up but i noticed that under neith is really warm from the transmission i believe. i think there is a heat shield under the carpet so would this make it alot hotter in the jeep during the summer? what do you guys think besides the fact that i need to fix the leak. thanks

Rip all the carpet out, take the seats and center console out, and spend a few hours rolling on Herculiner. You can get the whole kit at autozone for $80 and it is plenty to do the entire truck. Dries completely in about 24 hours.

Quiet, easier, cooler, and just plain awesomer.

i just started a thread about this the other day and some one said the floors get really hot around the tranny. and it might be a little louder from road noise.

I ripped the underlining on the bottom of the carpet off than rockerguarded (rhino line same idea) the floor than put dynamat over the entire floor as well to reduce heat and road sound than put the carpet back in that way if it gets wet there is no liner to trap the water and it's not sitting on the metal while it dry's works awesome just my method but I definitely agree with the rhino lining though
