Hey Guys,
I have a Jeep Cherokee SE, and the rims are starting to look quite shabby and stained. I was thinking since they are steel, I could use a steel wool brush or something to clean them when I really start to go through it. They have been stained like this for years, even when they have been done with a heavy duty rim cleaner. Or, are they just starting to lose the paint? IDK. It's pretty much my first truck and I want to make it pretty before driving starts.
Im attatching pictures so you can get an idea on how dirty they are...I think most of your responses are going to be, NEW RIMS!! LMAO. It's okay if you do, I just want to see if there is another way to clean them before $50.00 is spent on Four brand new rims. Thanks guys!!!

I sandblasted my stock wheels. then primed and painted them. you could try letting them soak in cleaner for a while then pressure wash.

X2 on soaking and pressure washing. Use the laser beam style nozzle when you wash.
Or you could do as also suuggested and strip and repaint.
Sand blasting isnt the only way, so dont be discouraged if you dont have a sand blaster. You could get away with other tools.

Thanks guys! I'm going to go through it and wash it really good in May. Ill take the most powerful pressure washer in the basement and use a heavy duty rim cleaner like before. I really don't know how to take off rims and all that, and my Mother would probably kill me even if I did. xD But thanks!!!!! I didn't even think of pressure washing to be honest. It did sit for three years so most of it may just be dirt...But pretty much I know most of the brown on the rim has been there forever.
