Default Repair question-Tire+Rim

So on the trails tonight I managed to hit a large stick pointed right at the rim/bead of the tire. It lodged a chunk of itself in there, It's slowly leaking air. Think a tire shop would be able to clean it out and reseat the tire?

I'll bet if you just aired it down completely, you could clean it out yourself. But certainly, any shop with a tire buster should be able to clean it out.

I had a stick in one of mine for months and it held air so I left it. If you have a hi lift and good bumpers you can take out the valve stem core and break the bead and get it out. Then all you need is a good compressor or in my case CO2 and reseat the bead. As long as you don't completely unseat the bead you shouldn't have any balance issues.

Let out all of the air.
Pull out the stick being careful not to break off a big chunk that gets left inside the tire.
Pump tire back up and use soapy water around bead to check for leaks.

You should be fine. I have popped a bead before and simply airing it back up did the trick and it was perfectly fine as long as you dont spin the tire on the rim and mess up the balance.

I agree, only unseat the bead with the debris in it. If you have a hard time airing it back up, you can always use a small ratchet strap around the circumference to re-seat the bead.
