Just wanted to know if there is any performance mods out there for the Renix Era XJ's?

Besides stroker engines/kits.

Like "chips" or something.

 

I don't think there's anything in current production anymore. There used to be a replacement "Performance" ECU from MPP, but you'd have to dig to find it these days, and it won't be cheap.

Apart from that, the standard mechanical mods (port/polish, open up intake and exhaust, bore/stroke) are what you're effectively limited to. RENIX was only around for four years (making it uncommon,) and no-one wants to go through getting CARB approval (if they can't sell it in 50 states, they're not interested.)

That, or you'd find something potentially useful that happens to fit something else. But, you're still talking mechanical mods.
