Reducing xj pitch, roll, & sway
Well, here I am. New to the forum, but I am 57 and basically grew up in a green jeep. Times were different. Few, (very few people) where I came from had 4WD in the early 60's. What I remember more than anything was the jeep wipers would never work together. 'Nuff.
I have a 2001 Cherokee Sport. My daughter has a 1995 Cherokee Country.
Hers rides "better"" than mine. Mine rocks down the highway like you are in a boat, you can feel your body swaying back-and-forth with every bump. Ride is relatively stiff, but that is OK. Both are stock, no lifts, etc. Both have decent gas shocks. Hers rides more like a Grand Cherokee. Frankly I have talked with others locally and do not know of suspension differences between the two Cherokees.
I have taken it to local 4WD shops, to no avail. Bushings, etc. seem OK. I am thinking - buy a different (aftermarket) rear sway bar. I have looked at an Addco 420. It is 7/8" but I haven't measured the existing one. My guess is it is smaller. I know a lot of you might take them off, but I want a good one. I don't believe it is a tire issue or shock issue as both have been replaced without noticeable differences.
I am open for thoughts, backed up with data.
Thanks,
rhs
