I'm looking to to put 33s on my cherokee. I'm looking for a lift kit fairly cheap, anyone recommend a particular lift kit? I trying to get everything for around $2000. I got a quote of $868 for some BFG KO 33x12.50x15.

I personally have a Rough Country Lift and am happy. There are many post on here about diff lift and peoples likes and dislikes. You can read them and get a better idea of what you are looking to get.

 

You going to do any trimming?

BDS 3" will be beautiful if you don't mind a little trimming...

 

i have had both RC long arm and short arm, i would say i hated their short arm due to the stiff springs and bad vibes for the lower control arms, but i love the LA kit. the springs are rated 10lb lighter (spring rate) and the long are geometry is fantastic for road smoothness. for short arm (3" and under) i would get a skyjacker or BDS 3" lift

 

If you're not set on bfg's you can get a cheaper set of 33's and save some money there. Tirerack was where I got my goodyear duratrac 33's and only paid 650. I went with rustys for my 4.5 lift but with shipping it ended up being quite expencive. For lift, tires, and a few other odds and ends I was right at 2k in parts.

 

I'm not wanting to trim anything if I don't have to. Looking for a strictly bolt on kit but I'm willing to make a few minor mods but nothing quite drastic. I just want to buy a lift kit that you guys have had no to few problems with.

For the most part I don't think any new lift will have any failing components in the first few years. After the components get older they don't take the abuse as much. With any aftermarket lift you need to go under your jeep from time to time to do the maintenance. Also 33's require triming if you want to turn the wheel or flex while offroad.

 

3 inch lift and trim will keep you way under 2 grand and will handle great on and off road...also alot less wear and tear and less modding down the road!

 

X2, i am running the RC 6.5" LA kit. Except my rear end is running 3.5" RE leafs with 2" RC Shackles

 

How do you like your RC long arms... I'm thinking long arms are my next big purchase.

the 6.5" RC LA kit is priced at $1400, but as all jeepers know you can do alil negotiating, or discounts sometimes.. so you can get the tires and the lift for around $2000 and that kit comes with everything you need and more

 

Iron rock offroad makes a great kit! there critical path 5.5" clears 33's. The short arm is 990$ and the long arm is like 1200$ I currently have the rough country 6.5" lift and it is prolly the cheapest kit out there that has quality but iron rock offroad has quality similar to more expensive kits like RUbicon express but for 400$ less. RC 6.5" is 100$ less than the iro 5.5" and both can clear 33's and the iro is a little tougher.
