Question reasonably priced dream build?

If you had someone's money (reasonable amount $2-3k) and wanted to build a XJ suspension, with 4inches of lift, What would be your goal, list the parts.

Why??
Because...
I'm just about to buy a lift kit, OME 4inch. I hear it's one of the best...
I've been searching but I only see one or two places that sell it.
Can you suggest a place that has good to great customer service and fair pricing?
Links to it would be greatly appreciated.

If the vendors on here want to send me a PM, Please feel free!

Serious Offroad, or DPG Offroad for the Lift

Rigidco, JCR, or Dirtbound Offroad, or Hud Fab for Bumpers, Sliders, and Skids

Sorry Armor and bumpers would be a separate budget...
But I like your thinking, I really like the JCR products.

I have roughly $2000 into my XJ's Build that is with a Rubicon Express 3.5" lift with Bilstein 5100 shocks, Wheels, JCR Gas Tank Skid, Rigidco Front winch bumper, Rigidco Sliders, XRC8 Comp winch, An a Rear Locker.

If you shop in the proper places you can get a decent start on a XJ for 3K

ive quickly learned to figure out what i want for myself and make my choices from there based on my budget. alot of people know alot here and can tell you some great info. but at the end of the day its your jeep and your money. ive been piecing together my kit and here is what i have so far.

IRO 4 in coil springs
IRO 3.5in leaf springs
JK rubicon takeoffs shocks

heres what ill be ordering in the near future as the money comes in

IRO double sheer track bar
ironman fax 4x4 adjustable short arms
longer brake lines from other vehicles

after i get all of that stuff installed if i need these items ill order them
HnT/SYE/ transfer case drop
longer shackles
shackle relocation brackets

i think i balanced everything out pretty good. i went with IRO springs cause of the warranty. just the fact that they offer a lifetime warranty tells me something. but only time will tell. for a dream kit? what ive been reading is BDS owns all.

I feel that OME is worthless for anything more than a $800 "budget boost" (2")
Anything taller and you need long arms, but OME says that long arms are the devil and kill puppies if you use them. It even says on their site that they believe long arms are bad. Definitely piece your build together yourself, rather than a kit.

Home brew lift is almost as good as a kit.
F150 coils and add a leaf from a Dakota. Mixed with new shocks, poly bushings and adjustable lower control arms and you'll have enough money saved to buy armor bumbers.

I know the long arm will be better in just about every way, but for me at this time I don't have a need for them...
Mild off-road, just enough to have fun while getting out to the remote campground in the mountains or across the beaches.

What makes BDS so good?

IF I did the BDS 4.5 SA kit. Looks like I would have to get/install a SYE. What else is a must?

STOP me if you think this is wrong, I'm going to order the BDS 4 1/2" Short Arm Suspension Lift Kit tomorrow.

yeah... lots of $$$$ but it seems to fit my needs better then the OME and most others.

I'll be using BFG A/T 31x 10.5- 15 on stock wheels. I do not want to trim/cut any body work.

I was talked out of the short arm 4.5" today at a shop. He said the steering would be darty and uncomfortable for long hwy runs.
true?
thought I'd be better with the 3"

Steering would be fine, But the ride would suffer anything over 4" should only be offered in a long arm IMO
