Lightbulb Rear Stinger Tire Carrier For An XJ

I've been tossing around some ideas of a rear stinger tire carrier I found a company that makes a D.I.Y. kit for the stinger tire carrier.

And then I came across this photo on the net. Its a pic of a XJ with a rear stinger tire carrier.

When I do decide to build it im gonna make it drop down for easy access to get the spare on and off, but also make it to were it can swing open like any other tire carrier so I can still get in my rear hatch. This is going to be a long build for me so won't be done anytime soon. Being this will be my first bumper build. I will post a build thread on it when its in the making. But right now I have to start getting materials for the bumper and with limited funds it will be awile. Just figured id post this in the cherokee chat section to get some feedback on it. Likes and dislikes maybe what you would do or wouldn't do kind of thing.

Care to share with the rest of us what company makes that kit? I'm cutting off my swing out carrier from my bumper and this could work out for me...Look forward to your build!

I was thinking the same thing, I was just going to make it drop down to get the tire off and to get the hatch open.

I have had great service with jeeptubes.com The main guy mark is more than happy to answer any of your questions you might have! I know that with their stingers and such are made to order so there aren't any pre made (although I am not sure about these) so if you need any alterations they can make them for you.

lol never said it was want you wanted exactly. You can make the stinger as big as you want. thats a minor detail...this shows you upclose the up/down workings and swing out things as you wanted.

My advice is to keep the stinger level with the roof, like this guy did...next time you go through a parking garage, woops there goes my tire carrier and bumper...

The other link to an enclosed winch.........datts a no-no if you have any winch experiance.....winches are'nt comparable to automatic transmissions......
Who is you post for? Me talking about the rear stinger tire carrier? Or the Other person saying off topic that he likes the front bumper from the link that some one else provided? Cause im not following what your trying to say. Or realy even understand what your saying.

I'll add......$104.00 to ship to my location (KY), the kit was $219.00.....and it's for a TJ.....$323.00 for a 'kit' that may not work out?

Per your orig. link.
