Default Rear Hatch lift struts....

Who has replaced theirs and what brand are they? Ive tried 3 sets (StrongArm as these seem to be the ONLY MFG) from 3 different stores (Advance, AutoZone, Oreillys) and the ball sockets at the end will not lock onto the posts. The plastic ends are always way too big and the stupid super soft metal clips that STRONGARM uses are worthless. Id hate to go to the Stealership but Im about out of choices.....any words of wisdom?

went with the autozone brand but had the same problem and if they did hold they were like ticking time bombs, they would pop off at the worst time about lost my head. I just ended up going to the local pick n pull. 5 bucks for 2 of them.

yeah the JY will have to wait, Im still 3 months from coming back stateside. I was hoping to avoid the yard but I may not have a choice. Maybe Durango struts can be made to work since the Durango struts have the pivot ball preinstalled....hhhmmmmmmmm ....... I ordered a Jeep replacement set from Morris 4X4. Had the wife open the package and tell me the brand...what do you know....strongarm . So those will most likely go back.

They work great. So well that most of the time I forgot I put new ones on and come close to busting my face lifting the hatch up

I always have a hard time finding the hatch struts on rock auto. I think I might be a little retarded.

Took me a while too.
