So I'm a bit new to the XJ world and I absolutely love it. I have an 87 leredo 4.0. How do I know if I have a Dana 44 or 30?

You've most likely got the D44. My 87 2 door Laredo has the D44. You should have the D30 up front, but I think you were wondering about the D35 vs the D44.

Yes I was wondering 35 vs 44, Not 30. From what I have been told it came with either of those two.

If you are unsure between the two, which is common, just look at the plug itself. If you have a rubber fill plug its definately a D35. If its a metal plug, its a D44.

you have a High Pinion Dana 30 in the front, guaranteed
the most common rear axle for your year would be the Dana 35. hopefully though, you have the dana 44. do you?

After taking another look at it and referring to the chart, it looks like I have a 35
