I've got a 1999 on a 4.5 lift. Its actually a bastard pack put together by the PO. He claims it was from Rusty's. But the rear axle is a good 2 to 3 inches of center of the wheel well. I'm going 33s soon and I'm afraid it'll rub once I do. Its not too bad on 31s after I just cut my fenders but it is just enough to irritate me.

How can I fix this?

WOW, looks like you're in the market for new leaf packs

What happened to your centering pin? There is a pin that goes through the leaf pack and helps to center the axle... now if the hole for the pin is that far back then it won't help you with the issue.

The PO was and idiot. I traded a grand cherokee for this one and continue to find myself redoing things the right way.

When I went looking for the centering pin about two weeks ago I realized it wasn't there. He did a bead of weld from under the perch that went through the base of the lift block then had the pin coming through the top of the block and halfway through the leafs.

That's my next step is to drop the rear axle and see if it can be fixed doing it the Right Way! And if not then its new leafs.

Here's pics I took today.

Probably a dumb question don't know if it'd matter but could the leafs have been put on backwards?

So I'm pretty sure I figured out today what the cause of the problem is.

I measured from the center pin to the front mount of the leafs and it was 25 in from center to rear mount was 28.

Then I measured me Cherokee and it measured 23.5 from center to front and 28 to the back.

Being a bastard pack he used S-10 springs which could be different center holes. I think he used the S-10 main leaf instead of cutting the ends off and using the jeeps stock one.

Here's think link if your a visual person like me.
