Default Rear ash tray ideas - Pre 96

I want to add a clean and functional usb charger where the ash tray is on the back of the center console for pre 96 XJs. I知 curious what other people have done with this space or if someone has done the same thing.

Literally just put in the final production prototype like 20 minutes ago for my 98....

For the 84-96s, I need to get ahold of someone locally that has one so I can do test fittings and such. I don't think what I have will fit but I'm not 100% sure.
Takes any of the ARB/Carling-style accessories. Switches, USB Chargers, whatever.

That looks pretty good.

Heres the link to my other thread where someone did what I'm wanting to do - https://www.cherokeeforum.com/f2/ide...e-96-a-251178/

I'd say as long as you can run 12V power and ground to it (easy to tap off of something else), and modify the back of the center console using a template to accept the USB port hub, you can most likely do it. If you really tried, you could EVEN run a USB cord up to the front and plug into the USB port on the back of pretty much any aftermarket radio (most aftermarket radios have two USB ports now: one on the front faceplate and one on the back of the radio itself), and avoid having to 12V run power and ground. At least I guess that's what you'd be able to do.

Look at you go.
One of these days I need to get going on ordering and putting in your overhead console switch panel.
Don't even have any lights yet for the fog light switches I want to put in it but it will look real cool in the passenger compartment. LOL.
