Lower dash panel, on both ends there are slots cut as a speaker grill. Usually the speakers are not factory installed but the wire harness at driver kickpanel is there and ready to plug in speakers.

Interesting. Now you know. I always thought those grilles/vents were kind of silly and didn't have much of a reason to be there. I did have my kick panels off when I pulled my carpet for cleaning. I don't recall seeing any loose plugs but then again, I wasn't looking for them either. I'm assuming the other half of the diagram shows the head unit and the left side speaker wiring.

Pictures of dash tweeter harness. It is a 4-wire connector. On my 1996 XJ it is located just above the hood release at driver kick-panel. Output is for tweeters, this i determined by connecting a full-range speaker, the lows and mid-lows were absent.
I will take a look under my kick plate. I had them off last year along with the entire interior, except dash, to take care of a little rust. If you think an XJ is noisy with a full interior, take everything out except the driver's seat. It sounds like you're in a big metal drum. The XJ even on it's best day is not a very good acoustical chamber.

Sunroof I've seen a couple, always 2.5L sport
Diesel... mine. 2.1 from renault and the VM 2.5, both not a really good engines, in Europe are common, if you guys want a few of them we will be happy about exchanging our diesel for your 4.0 gas lol
Same, the '95 2.5L XJ has 2 doors and power windows and locks
Mine has a power antena, I didn't even know that was rare, here all of them have it
Never seen one
I saw one, but I the fabric wasn't the same as the rest of the car, so maybe was something handmade

I'm going to open a project post in a few days, isn't the same as driving one but at least you can have measures, problems and sensation on first hand

Weird **** on my '95 Limited RHD Japanese export. Some of is just the limited pkg, but here goes.
Power antenna(and mine works!)
Rear headrests(really stupid, they hit the front seats when you fold the rear seat down)
Power/Comfort trans selector switch
Side markers above the front wheelwells
Cargo spare mount is on the right
Bracket on the right of the trans tunnel, im guessing for a dead-pedal
Skidplates for gas tank, front end and transfer case
Factory posi in an ABS D35
Oh, and the steering wheel is on the wrong side, lol.

December 2016 I purchased a stock one owner 96 I6 4.0 XJ sport 5 speed with cruise control in the very rare bright jade satin glow. Everything was still totally original including the factory cassette that still worked. Don't know if they were factory option or not but it had matching grey dash and glove box covers. One thing that was really cool was it had the full size original spare tire with the 9/95 date code on it. The tire had never been used. When I replaced the snows that were on it the tire shop was surprised to see the spare was still the original one.

Big difference in amount of years from 98 to 87,,, in the 80s cruise with a stick was a rare bird for most manufacturers. As a side note, I had cruise in an 81 280zx with stick and that was the first anyone I knew had ever seen,,,
