Talking back just starts their rant all over again.
Excellent advice.

In pretty much every state, you need to have your proof of insurance in your vehicle at all times. It even states it on most cards. If you don't have your card, the cops have the right to tow your vehicle. If your tail lights were not working, he has the right to stop you as well, as it is a safety violation.

99% of the time people have issues with Police, it is becuase of you, not them. Remember, they are normal, regular people with families. There is always going to be "bad apples" in every bunch. I don't know how old you are but you sound very immature and have some growing up to do. Just tow the line with the local LEO's and do what they say. There are more laws on the books than you have time to deal with.

I've already experience it. Just like home!
My age obviously has a lot to do with it, as well as my background.
I've been getting my act together, though. Starting school in 3 weeks. Only bad thing I do is my chewin' tobacker.
He was so convinced I was hiding drugs then found my prescription and hassled me about it.
I couldn't help but sigh

I had a similar situation when I was 18. When I moved out of the house I rented a duplex in an area that was known for being strict on traffic laws. I went 55 in a 25 deserved this one. The cop that pulled me over basically told me I was in his neighborhood now and that he was going to prove it. I was polite to him and took my ticket as I knew I was in the wrong. Then it turned for the worse. Over the next 11 days I was written 4 more tickets from this same cop in the same 4 block neighborhood. My roommate was written 3 in the same time period. And 3 of my friends were each written tickets leaving my house.

My 5 total Tickets were these
55 in 25
31 in 25
34 in 25
45 in 25 ( I pulled off of the highway that was 55 and had no reasonable chance of being down to 25 yet.)
27 in 25 The last ticket he said on tape that he was going to keep writing me tickets until my Licences got taken or I moved from his neighborhood.

My Roommate 3
2 Violation of noise ordnance- Stock exhaust other than flow master muffler on a 4.3 vortec S-10
1 Failure to stop at a stop sign- He did a rolling stop deal

The other 3 friends tickets were for speeding but cant remember how much they were.

All of these tickets were within 11 days from my first ticket and my last ticket sequential numbering wise there were only 19 tickets written by this officer. Five were mine and Six of them were my roommate and friends. so 11 of the 19 were basically from my house lol.

I know that in all of the cases except my roommates noise ordnance tickets were technically against the law. However I felt that it was targeted in excess.
On the court date we all went to court. (all the tickets had the same court date lol.
I plead not guilty to all 5 tickets and so did the others. Prosecuting attorney came up to me after court and ask if we could talk. I told him sure. He ask me if I was willing to make a deal. I had told him previously that I was going to plead not guilty due to harassment statue. He made a deal with me that boiled down to this

4 of my tickets were thrown out and the 55 in 25 was a civil penalty
all of my roommates were thrown out
all of my friends were thrown out.

I was always polite and clear headed until the very last ticket he wrote me. Of course there are 2 sides to the story. I would assume the cop thought I was just a punk kid and he wanted to make a point. He never thought it would turn out that I was a good kid that made a few mistakes. Other than the first ticket they were all a bit excessive.

With all that said. I respect the law and what they do for the crappy pay that they receive. That has been the only issue I have ever had with any cops. That cop has since been fired for something unrelated.

You can try this. But you have to know your rights before trying this.

Glad it all worked out!
I'm not saying what I did wasn't wrong but some cops need to come down from their power trip

I seen countless videos on the (know your rights) yes i do agree that some cops need to know that we as people of the U.S.A have rights when getting pulled over.

One side of the story and all.

Judging by your attitude in the first post, id say you are both at fault for wrong doings.

This is every episode of Cops. Why are they in your car? Unless the answer is, "I just picked them up at the drug store, they were in the drug store bag, the drug store receipt was in the drug store bag, my name is on the bottle, and the bottle was unopened" it's not a good reason.

And please don't say "Methadone".
