QUIET free flow muffler ?
The flowmaster that came on my XJ has got to go. Too loud for what Im using the vehicle for.
Other than going back to a stock restrictive muffler, anyone have any recommendations for something free flowing and not much louder than stock?

get a cherry bomb glass pack as a resonator, then either a flow master, or any "turbo" style muffler, I used that on a screamin' loud 4cyl I had and it's all nice and hush now, but still has a nice deep growl at idle and a decent scream at high rpms, but not too loud at all.

All Magnaflow muffs are straight through and stainless steel for virtually zero restriction and control sound very well. As with any muff, the larger/longer the case...the quieter it will be.

djb383 is right, the longer the better.
I would suggest the longest cherry bomb you can find to use as a resonator, then like he said, a good long magnaflow.
Look in to getting a high flow catalytic converter, they control emissions as well as, if not better than, stock Cat. Converters, but flow a whole lot more CFM's.
If you go with a setup like that, I guarantee it, you will not be disappointed.
