Question Quick question (headlights)

I'll probably be laughed at for this, but since getting the GC, there's one specific thing I've noticed more than anything else - turning the low beams on, results in almost everyone flashing me.

I spoke to the dealer about this, and he mentioned it was normal, due to its being designed for the US instead of UK/European market.

Mentioned what I was doing, to make sure I wasn't doing it wrong, and have come to the conclusion, that I'm stumped.

Turning the dial one notch, turns the side lights on, and second notch, the low beams, and now, to stop everyone flashing, I've got to turn it only to the first notch so the side lights come on, and put those little fog(?) lights on that are under the bumper.

I always have the little level thing on 3, so they're set to be as low as they can (tried it on 0, and everywhere in between, and it made no difference - everyone still flashed me).

And here is the question I'm expecting to be laughed at for - is it only me having this problem?

As an aside, I got the issue with the alarm/immobilizer sorted out - had to take it to the dealer (turns out the fob itself was partially broken (no idea what the actual problem with it was, just that it wasn't working as it was supposed to), and the central locking on the drivers door was faulty). Car only cost £900 (well, £850 as I part exchanged it for the Daewoo Lanos my brother gave me for my birthday), and so far, various problems have resulted in its costing around £3000 in repairs (love the car though, so don't care, as long as nothing else goes wrong with it, else I'll have to find another one (would have to be the same year/model/spec, as I love it that much, and yep, I know how sad that sounds))

Other than the thing in the GC for setting the height of them, I wouldn't have a clue how to do that? (I know absolutely nothing about cars, other than driving them).

Use the "advanced search" feature and search the GC section of the forum for the right procedure on aiming the head lamps. Then follow the instructions on the following link http://www.danielsternlighting.com/tech/aim/aim.

This section is specific to the Cherokee, like pictured in my avatar, the XJ headlight aiming procedure is far different than your "GC"

Unless it's to warn other motorists when it's very dark, that's illegal over here as far as I know

Let me add to that " unless it's a cop flashing you or there's cops around" and you are warning them! Your warning them not to flash you again or an *** whippings on its way lol

its because us market vehicles have the headlights aimed slightly right to not blind other drivers AND to illuminate the edge of the road. If you are driving it i nthe UK, your light are aimed towards oncoming traffic more so than al the others, so it appears your brights are on. try aiming your lights more left.
