It sounds good. but when the subs hooked up I can't turn it up loud or it starts making this horrible noise and skips until I turn it down.

I dunno, maybe I'm not getting it.

What source are you using? Can you describe "skips" better?

Are you playing a CD that is physically skipping?

Describe the horrible noise? Is it like a clapping metal on metal sound? Is it a grungy distorted sound? Take a video?

So I figured out it's this 6 disk changer he had screwed down in the back.

The guy left all his cd's in the disk changer, so when i got tired of his "slim thug" cds I decided to put one of my old cds in the cd player on the HU, it sounded perfect.

It really sounds better than i expected it to sound before I bought it. I feel so relieved but stupid at the same time lmao.

So I'm just gonna chunk that disk changer....who the hell uses cds anymore anyways?

oh and the sound was like a popping/scratching sound coming from the speakers, then it would shut off, start playing for like a split second then start popping/scratching again and repeat until i turned it down. I think it was going into some kind of protection mode or something.

Weird, but glad you got it fixed!

CD changer...lol! They used to be the only way to get lots of music in your ride. Ah how times have changed ... at least for the better.
