Default question about a value

Have a 2001 cherokee classic with a now crack engine block. A guy I know wants to buy it but not sure on a fair value. some repair place give a estimate that makes the value to value 0. This guy is going to do the work himself. What are your thoughts?

How many miles on everything? It also doesn't matter if he's going to do the work himself. Time that it takes to do the work is still valuable to the potential buyer.

$1000 to $1300 bucks. It's a parts vehicle at this point so even then it might be high
