Question about Pumpkins
I was wondering if there was a reason why people paint there differential covers orange or bright red?

I was just wondering if it actually served a purpose, like to be more visible when someone is spotting you... so they are easily seen...
But if it adds fifty horse I may just have to paint mine, John Deere green though

It grabs attention. My bright green skid plate turned my Jeep into an attention *****, for better or for worse. People notice it though, I get comments on it all the time.

I was told its to make it easier for the spotter. I don't know, my front solid came in this awesome grey powercoat, that looks textured almost. I'd love to be able to replicate it with a spray can, its that good looking.

Yellow stickers add horsepower too, and so does sticking a red R on the tailgate.
Painting the diff cover makes it easier for the guy you just ran over to decsribe you to the police. " I could see his Nikes through the holes in the floor boards and he had a bright orange diff cover and plastic ***** hanging from the rear bumper."

lol, I may have to steal that idea from you and do the same to mine.
I live in NE Ohio and it seems every pickup truck around here has there rear pumpkin painted orange or red and has a chain draped over the front tow hooks. It must be a new fad. Last fad we had was everyone was painting their trucks in John Deere colors
