a buddy of mine needs to get pulled out, he got his suby stuck..all i have are tow hooks on the front..was wondering if its a good idea to pull someone out in reverse? thanks

 

you should be fine. as long as he isnt horribly stuck, you use a tow STRAP with no metal hooks, and that you have properly mounted tow hooks. also, dont hammer on it too hard if you dont need to.

 

just put them on last week i got a little excited when i was asked to pull him out haha took off the bumpber and mounted them to the body. i dont have any straps yet but he does. i mainly bought them for getting pulled out was getting a hitch soon just wanted to make sure it would be alright in reverse

 

A Suby stuck? My Suby is my DD and I have taken it a few places and never gotten stuck.

 

pulling in revse is your best way and its the strongest gear you got just dont romp the gas to hard i use to have to do it in my ol zj

 

I heard a few times that reverse is the worst way to pull, and that it puts more strain on drivetrain. Anyone else weigh in on this?

 

Every time I have broken or seen a broken stub shaft it has happened while in reverse....
Just be careful doing it especially if you have low gears and you can get away with it

 

reverse is not the best way....

 

I don't think recovering Subys is allowed. They are intended to become fill in the deep sections.
