I had my son help me figure this out. Didn't get many pics today.
Plans:
1. Lift kit
2. Wheels and tires
3. Custom roof rack
4. Custom brush guard and rear bumper
5. Hopefully tint the windows
6. Possibly upgrade the speakers at some point.
Here we go.
I will get more pics up as soon as i can. Ran out of daylight today.

Was thinking about taking the trim off, all these votes to do that really confirms that idea. Was considering painting rhino liner from there down, it will need some bondo because they screwed the trim on to keep it from falling off. UGH. Anyoen have experience with that?
I'm so excited about my new ride that I can hardly concentrate on anything else today. Can't wait for all the fun stuff to be added. I've got the fever!!!

x1,000,012 on the removing the body side moldings.
Here's how mine looks without em:
Huge improvement. I also painted the bumper caps, like you did. Just used flat black.
As far as the holes from the screws... man, that's really lame that someone would do that, but I don't recommend Bondo. It'll probably fall out over numerous door slams. Of course, if you put the bed liner over top of the bondo... you might not get perfect adhesion, but that might do the trick.

77Olds- your XJ is awesome! I really like the wheels and tires, we are searching the market for a set of wheels like that, blacked out. And you are right, the Jeep looks better without the mouldings. Very clean

here is mine without any trim, debadged,no endcaps and no flares. its still a work in progress. also removed the inner fender plastic. just went out and bought a nuematic air saw to trim the fenders. makes it alot easier. just waiting for warmer weather so i can paint the raw metal after the trimming.

Although it's my passenger fender flare. Drywall screws.
Also... I prefer the stock look of the fender flares VS trimming the fenders.
