Default to powdercoat or not?

I saw some wheels like mine done in black and they looked awesome.. BUT.. I would hate to powder coat a set of polished wheels.. should i try to sell them and just buy black rims or powdercoat these?

I don't think it matters. Just don't put money into it if your going to scratch them up.

The powder coating holds up well. Doesn't scratch up like paint and so much easier to clean than polished.

Personally, I hate black wheels. And it would be a sin if you take those nice polished wheels and paint them black.

You know why people started using black wheels? It started out because people were too poor to buy nice wheels so they started taking their stock trashed up wheels and painted them black- black shows less detail and makes it harder to see that they're all *****ed up. It became so popular that wheel manufactures started offering black wheels- and it so happens we live in a world of "me too" and now for some unknown reason lots of people think they look good. They don't look like anything, they're black.

So in my mind, when ever I see black wheels, I think 'poor guy can't afford nice wheels or he justs wants to be someone else.'

Keep in mind, this is just my opinion and I'm exercising my freedom of speech.

no worries you cant hurt my feelings .. I have always thought the same thing about black wheels. On certain vehicles it looks ok but I do like my polished wheels. im not out for the whole "murdered" look but it has crossed my mind. I have a set of 15x10 black D hole rims in the garage but I hate steel rims. they are just to heavy. I think I will sell these and go with my original plan and buy some polished 15x8's

I agree, love the polished look! Here's why I PC my classic II's. They were free and looked like this, sad.

If you want black, sell your wheels and buy black ones. Don't ruin a set of polished. I like the polished look

black wheels for me, money isnt a option, ive got 26" wheels on my tow rig that were 4k, but my jeep is for trails and mud, i think its a shame to trash a nice set of wheels going offroad, but if u dont do that sort of thing with your rig, go for it

I hear of a ton of people using plasti dip aerosol on their wheels, If you don't like the looks anymore you can peel it off an it does not harm the finish

Lol wow I wasn't going to that extent. But I like black wheels. I had black wheels on my cobra. I had black 20s on my Volvo and I have black wheels on my xj. Don't think i'm broke but I do think it looks good. Nothing wrong with painting them. Looks better anyway.
