That is a nice looking roof rack. Mine's just a simple WP basket with two Hella's. Currently removed, as i'm in the process of sanding & repainting it:

Yea, that'll probably be the next thing i do, is add a high lift, a shovel, and an axe.

Thanks, the XJ looks different from when that picture was taken. I've removed the side mouldings, put the end-caps back on, and tinted the side-markers. Always a work in progress!

not the best picture but its a surco rack. i got it for 80$ from a guy that was gonna put it on his hummer but realized it was too small. Right now i got 4 lights up front (100w) and 2 in the back (55w). I also put my spare up there.

Night/day diff. Updated pic, but yes, very expensive. 1600 shipped with the ladder. Already has the wires ran inside the tube for lights, powdercoated, and the PERFECT fit. I like this thread. Racks make the jeeps. I will always have my rack, minus 3 mpg or not.

definitely better with the rack and the wires make it look even better, how is the ladder? is it fragile or is it really heavy duty? i wouldn't d care if it were minus 10 mpg if it looks as cool as that. NICE XJ my friend

im sure the humvee guy loves the way it looks on the XJ hes probably jealous of it, having the spare tire in the roof gives you more space for cargo and looks more bad as s

he enjoyed my jeep alot. i actually really respected his hummer though. most of those never see offroad but when i got the rack he had just got back from a week long offroading trip. His hummer was big too. He had ~4 inch lift wiht 37s.

dude! thats what im talking about homemade racks, you should post the dimensions because i think that some people would like to have this one, personally i like it because it covers all the roof and gives plenty of cargo space. nice job!

nice to hear a humvee owner that likes XJ, i like humvees, h2 h3 not so much because as you say the people who own them almost never take em off road and they put 24" or 26" rims, get your friend to join the forum so he can put pics, sounds like a sweet ride, way out of my budget though...
