Check with local Highway Patrol. mine told me if its not blue or red im fine, i got nailed on my motorcycle for having blue LED valve stems. It looks nice dude. I would have gotten mine done but i ended up purchasing recovery equipment. winter hit us hard here Friday with over 16"

well I've heard a lot of negative things from radio forums about lights on antennas.

But this reminds me of the time my uncle Chuck, a CHP Sargent at the time, said watch this...He had me hold up a fluorescent light tube about 3 feet from his cruiser antenna as he keyed it up. It lit it up like it was in the socket it was designed for! Maybe you don't need to add outside power to make yours light up? It may however absorb some of your output? Fred could answer that better than I could.

yeah I've heard of that stuff with neon lights there's some kind of bulb they used to put on the top that would light up when you key up.

Im not saying freds wrong haha. i always left the top 1 1/2 to 2" of my whips unwrapped. and i have seen the florescent light with CB whip trick before haha always fun to watch.

Check the VSWR at the radio and I bet you will remove that real fast, if you ever plan on using the CB.


It's wire wrapped around more wire inside the antenna the wire is how you tune the antenna by cutting it when new. That is on a Firestick anyway its a loaded antenna not a whip as such.

Mine always worked? never had any issues when i was on the trails. Not doubting your authenticity just saying.
