Oil changes usually are determined by mileage driven (ie. 3,000 miles), Or need because of seasonal changes. (viscosity vs. weather temp.) Other than that, How long do think that oil. May have sat on the store shelf, Before you bought it?

heck i need to change mine on both jeeps but yea i dont think it matters as for the time...

since im gone all week and only home on the weekends i dont put many miles on my jeeps, so ive gone over 6 months...in fact as far as the month goes, i was suppose to change the oil in both my jeeps in november..lol..but im only a couple thousand over on each one right now...lol..so i dont pay attention to time....

the only time i would is if it was sitting out back in a shed or a yard for a year or more and never driven, then i would change it

I just go with changing mine every three thousand miles which is more than often enough. I work on fleet vehicles for a living and we change the older trucks every 5000 and the newer ones at 7500. I think the whole 3 months idea is just a ploy to sell more oil IMO.

No, nevermind the time and go by the odometer and you'll be fine.

I was amazed to look in the owner's manual and see that it recommends oil changes every 7500 miles. I don't wait that long, but thought that was pretty cool.

I wait 'till oil is dark. not black, but dark....and guess what?
it rounds out to 4-5 month intervals..........rolf
(yes I go by color......I'm strange)

lets face it, this motor just needs good clean oil.
it aint a ricer, or a drag machine no need to overthink it.
just change that oil at reg intervals. and she will run just fine

If you run synthetic you will be fine. Many newer vehicles have sensors that tell you when the oil needs changed. My Saturn goes about 6,000 miles before the sensor kicks on.
