i'd take pictures but you wouldnt be able to see a difference. the factory grilles fit right over them...

 

Oh okay, that answers my question then. did you use the current holes for mounting or did you have to drill new ones?

 

and does your aftermarket head unit push them or do you have an amp?

 

how did you get the grilles back over them? I used the adapter plate that came with the speaker to mount the speaker up there and now the speakers stick out to far and the grille won't fit. also I got my fronts in tonight but didn't try to put the door panel on yet. will I have any problem with that?

 

Just to clarify... are we talking about the DB651 or the DB651s? "s" designates shallow mount.

Ran across a 651 non-shallow-mount pair for cheap, wondering if they'll fit in the doors.

 

I have 6.5s in my front doors didnt have to modify the door any I have a sound bar out of a 95' cherokee im putting in my 89' i have to trim the sound bar and put new holes in it for the speakers to mount. A friend of mine has 6.5s in his 97' cherokees sound bar think his just mounted up if not just do what im doing with my sound bar.

 

im not running the shallow mounts, and i didnt use any adapter plates. just made new holes.

 

yup thats what i ended up doing too. but with the 6.5s in the front doors my door panel is pushed out a little

 

ok guys ive got the polk db 6.5's all around and im looking for a amp. whats a good 4 channel amp to look for?

 

Go on Amazon and search polar Arctic amp. Very cheap and a good amp.
