Default plexiglass floors...

Has anyone ever seen or made cutouts in your floorboards and put in plexiglass to be able to see the rocks beneath you? If so please post pics. I have a friend up in Washington that did it to his samurai and it was pretty awesome, he also had the whole undercarriage lit up with lights for night crawling. And no they were not neon's lol

I've heard of and seen glass bottom boats, but never a glass bottom Jeep.

If you reenforced it right I think it would be ok. Would add some weight but would also be sweet!

you'd need to order some 1/2" plexi, 1/4" wouldnt be strong enough imo...

Doesn't matter as long as you keep the frame rail like it is.

OP, from a guy driving around with LITERALLY no floors, its not worth it. Not much can be seen without the floor missing.

Check my build thread if you want to see what can be seen through an invisible floor.

What needs a good seal? The floor? Why?

Again, I had NO floors, and drove and wheeled for almost a full year and never had a problem. Rain, snow, mud, nothing gave me issues.

I tried that cooking spray thing years ago because everyone said that it would make mud easier to wash off. Not true. If anything it made it harder ... everything that got any type of heat under there turned into a frying pan. The mud got so cooked that after months of trying I finally had to paint over the parts I couldn't get clean.

Bad idea.
