Red face Please Help - front drive line groan

When Im 2 wheeling - no issues

When Im in 4 - there is a constant groan right under the front floor, more so on top of the front drive shaft.
The more I step on the gas - the quicker the sound (doesnt get louder, just quicker). If I take my foot off the gas - instantly dissappears.

I looked underneath - cheaked the Double Carden / drive shaft - no play, cannot move...and when I turn Jeep doesnt bind - so I guess this good? No angry sparrows??

Had a look at my front U joints - cant see any rust....but hard to tell by looking at them.
It has to be the U joints right??? In this case one side is worse than the other because the sound is more on one side.

The groaning sound sounds like it has no grease.....kind of like a cement mixer truck when that round thing is turning round.

No lift - still stock fixing everything

U joints?

Just came back from a drive and listened close....its coming directly from the shifter / transmission tunnel.

Could it be the u-joint that joins the driveshaft to the diff?

Could be a bearing in the front diff as well more than likely a pinion bearing if it is

JUst went out and moved the drive shaft at the diff end, there is no play at all (if its the pinion bearing there would be movement at the back of the diff right?)

Although the U joint moves up and down about 1/8".
At the TC (when not locked) there is a sound that sounds like a zipper on jeans going up and down.

Won't have to be play for it to be bad. In the extreme cases there will be play. That ujoint needs to be replaced for sure. Haven't heard that sounds from the tcase before (the zipper sound). I gotta think about what that could be.

ok, I greased up the shaft and ordered new joints...hopefully that will fix the noise.
Although today with some Jason Aldean on I couldnt hear it....a bad pinion bearing you can hear right?
When I posted originally it was night out and stereo off and can hear the grinding noise if you listen
