Lightbulb Please E-Inspect my XJ?

Howdy, just picked up a 94 Cherokee Sport with the mods in my sig, brand new motor w/ 50kish miles for 3,000 cash. I knew it was going to be somewhat of a project, and I really didn't care about the dents and faded paint. I know now I overpaid for it.. your input would be appreciated on how much you think it is worth, although I do not plan on selling it. It is my daily driver.

It has a few problems though:
-The steering can be very scary at times, everytime i hit a bump the whole steering wheel jerks. No idea what lift kit it is - All I know it is a 6.5 in lift. I just replaced the brake pads and had upper and lower ball joints installed. I included plenty of pictures below, what can I do to make my steering more correct? Yes I know the sway bars are disconnected, I have them in the garage. ( I was planning on upgrading the shocks and springs front and rear, what would be the best setup? Does Old Man Emu have shocks for my setup? ) New steering stabilizer?
-It came with rear lockers that screech like crazy every time I make a turn, it would be great if it was a farm toy, but I daily drive this thing to work. How much is it to take to a shop and have them remove it roughly? Could I attempt it myself?

Here are the pics - $3,000?

????

you have a rear locker. just one locker not lockers. if it makes noise around every corner you probably dont have a locker but a spool. a locker would allow the shafts to spend at different speed and not cause any noise around corners. the lift is also to tall for the control arms, its sucking your front tires in. this could be causing your issue. try an alignment first and see if that takes care of the steering issue. if not bushings, ball joints, tie rod ends might need replacing.

The noise is most deffinately coming from the rear of the Jeep, make a sharp turn and the whole rear end buckles.

like he said its prolly a spool and those control arms need to be replaced and you need to get rid of those gargantuan spacers and the cheap flimsy spring lock on the pass. side

i think you need a tie rod end. as cheap as they are, i'd replace them. do me a favor, next time you're under it, grab the tie rod and shake it, see how much play it has side to side on the pitman arm end. i'm not talking about rotation, just movement side to side or back and forth.

yep sounds like a spool not a locker. to replace that you need a new carrier with spider gears and install kit and someone to reset you gears. a shop would easily charge you $800 if not more

did the PO tell you it was a locker? you have a lot of work on your hands and $$ to spend to get it into shape.

that's what common sense would say, but you never know. that's not an expensive build.

So you think I could get by with this: http://www.rocky-road.com/xjcontrol.html , along with their control arm drop system? OME Steering stabilizer, and new springs and shock absorbers?

Same about the rear diff, I guess it would be cheaper to just buy another 8.25 axle huh? Even w/ a mechanic that owes me some free hours (said he would take the locker out for free) How much are parts going to run me to swap it out?

you could get those arms and drop brackets. i would just long arm it. parts around $200 for new carrier and install kit. if you do that then you will atleast know you have a rebuilt axle and could eventually put a lunch box locker in it later down the road.

Thanks for your advice I appreciate it. She's gonna have to stay like this for a few months but i'm giving it a makeover this Christmas.

New control arms, drop kit, new shock absorbers and springs, body work, painting it either white or black, KC lights, another spare tire for the back, rebuilt rear axle.
