Where can I get a quality one? The one I had bought from Autozone a couple years ago is a POS and bent on me when using it today. Looked at one at Oreilly's and it looks to be exactly the same as the Autozone one (although a different brand).

Preferably one I don't have to order online and wait for a week for. Trying to get my Durango box on by the end of tomorrow

yeah dude your kinda limited to harbor frieght or a matco truck.

i havent found any quality tools from autozone, or the like.

and yes i know harbor frieght isnt the bees knees of quality but they have some gems.

 

I would just rent one, if it breaks try another. O'reilly's has yet give me any hassle with returning broken tools, they understand they're ****.

 

Thanks fellas. I have a Harbor Freight a few blocks away so I'll try that. If that's no good, I'll go the rental route. I would like to have one of my own (a quality one) though

I've torqued on that thing hard with a big breaker bar, left it on there til it popped a tre off, it didn't break a sweat. Lol.

Looks like the HF one. At the very least, if you did break it, I think it's a handtool and you'd get a new one.

 

Harbor freight doing the same thing. Scared to tighten it anymore. What am I doing wrong?

 

smack the side of the pitman a few good times with a hammer while you have pressure on the tool. should pop off

Should the drag link be detached from the pitman arm? Or does it not make a difference?

You shouldn't need to but it may take a little pressure off the arm and help a little. Try a strap or clamp around the tool to keep that junk metal from spreading. Tap the arm on the front there while it has pressure on it. Good luck.
