When i bought my 94 in 05 the oil had never been changed and i had to buy a new motor. You couldn't even see the rocker arms or the oil pan had crust built up in it so thick that i had to buy a new pan and valve cover was unable to be used too. People like that need their @$$es removed with a blow torch (just my opinion though).

My first was an e34, and now I have an e39. I have yet to drive a better built car than my e39 though as far as engine, tranny, body, build quality. Some interior parts are eh.... but the rest of the car is top notch.
