patched All Terrain tire
i can get a real good deal on a set of BFG AT tires with 70% tread remaining but one of them has a patch right in the middle of the tread
would you buy or skip?

Was it patched and plugged? An internal patch is ok, but if it wasn't plugged at the same time, you can get tread separation, Personally I wouldn't buy them, only for the fact that I consider tire repairs of any kind a temporary fix until I could get new...but that's just my preference. If they are a really good deal, then get them, and just replace the one tire that's patched.

Depends on the severity of the hole, if it was like a big nail should be fine, but a guy a drove over this big *** railroad steak and the tire has a big *** bulge in it now. If i were you Id talk down the price, get one new tire and use the patched one as a spare. I just got a brand new bfg at on a aluminum wheel for free, its a 32x11.5 but will work fine as a spare.

I had a set of bfg at on my 93 f150 Got a hole in the sidewall part of the tread wheelin but plugged it with two plugs and It held up till I got new tires ( about 4 months) but I've never been a fan of plugs or patches unless your in a dyer emergancy
