Here's the deal. I have a buddy whose Aunt wanted to get an 96 Cherokee 2WD out of her driveway so she sold it to me for $150. It doesn't run (engine problems) and has been sitting for a long time. It's in rough shape but hell it was $150.

So my question is if I should just part it out or put in a few hundred dollars, get it running and sell it (could probably get $2,000 if it runs).

Keeping it sounds cool but honestly I have an 08 JK and a 97 XJ already. I would rather take the money and put it back into the other two Jeeps.

Thoughts?

 

I'd first diagnose it to make sure it's not just something simple as the starter and then sell it and if not part it out and make you money back over time

 

For me, it would depend on what's keeping it from running. Minor issues, I'd fix it. If it needs a new engine, I'd part it out.
Good luck getting $2000 for it though, unless its in perfect shape. Out of me and all my buddies with XJs and MJs, the most expensive Jeep out of all ours is a nice 4.0 5 speed 4x4 2 door for $800 delivered to his house.
