Default Parking Brake Button

93 Cherokee Sport, 4.0 - The parking brake button has popped off the lever. I found 1 YT video suggesting a small cable lock fix. My problem is I think there must have been a return spring or something that is now missing and the lever is just loose on the ratchet (no clicks). Is repair possible? I looked for a replacement lever with no luck. Any recommendations?

Any suggestions are greatly appreciated!
Thanks!

What's your year? If 97+ there is a small spring behind the button, and of broken or missing will do exactly as you say and just let the lever move freely.

If you need a whole new lever assembly I have one I just pulled off my 98 (will work for any 97+), shoot me a pm.

Hmm, never taken apart a 84-96 lever, but I would imagine it has a spring in it just like the 97+. That small spring is necessary to have the handle click and stay where it's pulled.
