I wouldn't mess with that much paint. You have a nice Jeep that doesnt seem to need any paintwork. Put some girly stuff on it if you want to make it look like yours. (I dont know : stars, hearts, flowers or whatever you ladies are into). If I was itching for a change in my Jeep I would put some camo accents on it rather then repainting the whole thing. My .02. Plus the money you save on a crazy paintjob like that you could get a small lift and good rubber and be better off.

 

I think it would be a sacrilege to defile an XJ like that.

 

I rattle can'd my entire XJ for less than $75 out of pocket.

 

Truthfully, XJs look a lot better with a monotone paint scheme (that means only one color).

Just pick what color you want and go for it. I strongly suggest not painting it yourself unless you know what you're doing. I did all the body work on my XJ in the shop where I work and I paid a guy with 20 years of experience to guide me through everything. There's TONS of prep and body work that people will miss by not having any experience.

 

i like the idea. go for it if thats what you want. just make sure to prep good and the finish look will be better and last longer.

 

Paint large black spots, like a cow on it. Or maybe zebra strips. Now that'll stand out.

 

Well yeah, but I dont think she wants to rattle can a two tone paintjob like that. Unless I'm wrong.

 

a one stage paint job in all purple would look great and be fairly cheap
especially if you have a friend who would be nice enough to help do some of the prep work that miracle overlooks
I think a solid deep purple would look great. or atleast put the black on the bottom and purple on top. lighter color always belongs on top IMO

 

I say go for it! I like two tone paint jobs.

thanks for the replies. Yep... def doing a rattle can two tone paint job haha. I've done it before and it came out awesome. If I can find the pics I'll post them NorCalJeep- I like the color! I'm trying to go for a dark plum color... I'm thinking about not doing the pink stripe anymore, just black and purple
