Default Paint ?

Those of you that have painted your jeep, did you paint the door jambs too? Or did you leave it so when you open the doors you can see the factory color? I know you can't see it with the doors closed, but when they are opened I would think it would look funny.

Earl used to charge $29.95, his Minions painted the wheels & jambs.

BTW, most of the Scheib shops were located in / near Ghettos.

Everything! I painted it all in one shot for each coat. It was painful but well worth it. I did underhood/jambs/hard to reach areas in the first pass and another pass over the flat surface areas. I highly recommend painting the jambs. You'll be able to see the other color through them if you dont.

I think everything would be the way to go for changing colors. I see lots of guys spray can painting and they don't seem to paint everything. I would thank you could still see between the doors. Thanks for the pictures, it does look painful but worth it.

Its super hard to get a even paint job on a whole car with a rattle can,Most you look at and see kinda like zebra strips in the paint after. If you don't have all the stuff to paint it with a gun maybe look at plastidip.Look at https://www.dipyourcar.com/?gclid=CP...FVq4wAodeHwGCA he even has a spray gun thats basicly same one you use to paint a house. Its about 300 up to do and its removalable later on if you don't like it.And you can dip over it depending the colors before and after.

Any guesses to what this color is? Can't find any other pics of this XJ. Doesn't look matte, but maybe a satin? Looks darker to me than regular silver or gray. Any guesses?

What Lack said. Might partly be affected the time of day the picture was taken? Is that a long shadow there to the right? The black out decals on the hood look great. BASF liquid metal, maybe? Looks like Mexico.
