Title says it all. I know you can't tell a ton by just pictures, but I wanted to run it past a more experienced crowd than I.

That XJ will have the notorious 0331 head, and with nearly 200k miles I would ask about it. If nothing else, be prepared to replace it before it cracks and does the motor in. Nice looking XJ otherwise.

Both the above statements, the 2000/2001 are on the pooplist due to the head. But that is a gorgeous XJ, very clean, and that color combo is one of my favorites. Wave $3K cash under his nose and you'll probably drive it home.

I wouldn't give him 3400 unless the mileage was 100,000 less. I paid 1600 for mine and it only had 140,000 and no rust. Personally i would offer anywhere from 2500 to 2800.

Very clean, yes. Still almost 200k. I would say $2,500 tops.

Barring any glaring defects, it's a safe bet it sells @ $3400

Almost 200k though? I mean, yeah it's clean, but 200k for 3400?

$2800 seems more in line, no?

13k miles per year is still below average.
6 years ago I paid $3800 for an 01 with 120k on the clock. I think I did OK, it hasn't stranded me yet.

Not over-priced in my neck of the woods. It would still depend on the mechanicals. Check it out carefully, especially the cooling system. I would look at it myself it was closer.

I don't see why that wouldn't be a good price for something that clean. But if you're just looking for a Jeep to wheel, I'd find something uglier. That thing deserves to stay on the road.

On the other hand, if you're mechanically inclined, swapping a head is pretty easy. Just make sure you're replacing it as preventative maintenance and not as a repair.
