Good find,Iwish Iwould have gotten in on this thread earlier. The picture of the front diff was hard to tell, but when I saw the outer hubs, I was almost certain it was a d60.
Do mind me asking what you gave for it?
I bought a 79 f250... w/ d60's a warn 8274 and a good flat bed for 750. Turned around and sold the flat bed for 250 (too cheap) and sold the engine, and junked the rest.... I kept the c-6, the np205, the axles, the winch, and the driveshafts.
If you got it for less than 1200 it was a steal.

I had to give him $2000 for it. I will keep the Fisher plow and sell the salt spreader. The truck actually has 68,000 miles on it. No lie!
It was bought new by the Leoni Township Fire Department. Everything on it is original except for the box. It didn't have one when the Fire Department owned it. The guy I bought it from Cobbled one on there.
The Passenger floor is solid. The Drivers floor needs a few small patches which I will get around to before the winter. It starts and runs fantastically. The tires are fine... What's not to like I figure! Besides after my 4th tank of gas on the power washer I think I saw it smile at me!
With the plow and spreader it was a good price at $2000 in my mind. I'll use it as a winter driver so I can keep my Cherokee parked.

I'm still thinking about that 460 engine and the C6. The guy only wants a grand for the whole F250...

Just checked and I am 100% sure it has a NP435 tranny. I see on Novak Industries website that this can be mated to a NP231 TC with an adapter.
Interesting...

NP435, huh?
That trans never even crossed my mind.

Joe:
I'll take a pic of the Transmission.
For now... I just got back showing some Mechanic friends of mine my find...
Your not going to believe this but according to them it still has the original plug wires in it! I took a picture for input from you guys.
On the wire it clearly says 1978. The mechanics said this is because they are 1978 plug wires.
Does anyone have anything to dispute that?
Here's a picture.

Here are pictures of the Tranny.
First one is the Drivers side view.
Second one is the Passengers side view.
Third one Shows a few numbers and the NP in the casting.
I would say this is indeed a NP 435.
Any input? The Tranny measures 10.750" long front to rear.
Thanks
