Default older XJ w/out side trim pics needed & hatch area tool storage platforms

I have a 91 and wanted to know if anyone has an older XJ where they took all the side trim from the doors off. I know part of it is a black laminate of some kind but looking to see how the XJ looks with the rubber trim removed.

I am also looking for some pics of tool stowing areas. I don't want to carry all that stuff around with it so visible so I was thinking of making a wooden box [maybe about 6" high] that covered the entire hatch area to stow tools, jack, jumper cables etc. I will be covering the wood with some kind of carpet or rubber mat to make it blend in if someone looked through the window.

In my opinion I like the rubber trim, and there's a thread on rear storage ideas.

yeah mine has the rubber stuff peeled but still has the vinyl underneath. probably going to pull the vinyl and see how it looks soon. if i don't like it i'll just plastidip it back on. i have a contico SUV tuff bin in mine for storage of fluids and tools. works alright and fits perfectly in the back.

Can you post a pic of that bin? And I like the side wall trim on the 97 + most
